In the 1990s, co-founders Graham Reynolds and Peter Stopschinski, both composers, faced challenges in finding spaces and funding for their original chamber works. They united to apply the collaborative methods of rock music to classical, creating a vibrant community of living composers. Golden Hornet has since expanded its reach, serving over 1,400 individuals locally in Austin and more than 1,600 nationally and internationally.
