Our Story

Founded in 1999, Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue is a dedicated volunteer organization committed to rescuing unwanted, neglected, abused, homeless, and displaced Golden Retrievers in Houston, Texas, and surrounding areas. Over the years, GBGRR has successfully rescued more than 4,000 Golden Retrievers, providing them with essential veterinary care and loving homes.

With a strong focus on rehabilitation, Golden Beginnings has made a significant impact in the lives of countless dogs. The organization has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Starfish Award from the Golden Retriever Club of America for its exceptional rescue efforts during Hurricane Katrina.
