Our Story

In 2016, Katie Blomquist, a dedicated first-grade teacher, discovered that many of her students had never owned a bike. This realization sparked a GoFundMe campaign that went viral, leading to the creation of Going Places. The mission is simple yet profound: to bring joy to children in need by providing them with bikes. Focused on local communities, the organization aims to ensure that every child in Title 1 elementary schools has the opportunity to experience the freedom and joy of riding a bike.

Our Impact

Going Places has successfully provided bikes to children in low-income schools, restoring their sense of joy and freedom. The goal is to reach every child in 31 Title 1 elementary schools, expanding the impact statewide and nationally.
