Our Story
Founded in 1976 by Dave Fry and Cindy Dinsmore, Godfrey Daniels began as a cozy coffeehouse dedicated to live folk music. Named after a W. C. Fields expression, it quickly became a beloved venue for local musicians and audiences. Over the years, Godfrey Daniels has transformed into an internationally recognized club on the folk circuit, while remaining committed to supporting artists. In 1978, it became a nonprofit organization, ensuring that most admission fees directly benefit performers. With a successful membership program and generous donations, Godfrey Daniels continues to thrive.
