About the Global Sustainable Tourism Council

The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) was established in 2007 as a coalition of 32 partners, including the Rainforest Alliance and UNWTO. Its mission is to promote sustainable tourism practices and develop universally accepted criteria.

Impact of GSTC

As of August 2023, approximately 25% of hotel room inventory in Singapore has achieved or is pursuing sustainability certification. The GSTC has accredited 58 hotels, with many hospitality groups achieving certification for all their properties.
