Our Story

Global Sanctuary for Elephants (GSE) was founded to create safe spaces for captive elephants, allowing them to heal physically and emotionally. Recognizing the urgent need for sanctuaries, particularly in South America, GSE opened the first sanctuary, Elephant Sanctuary Brazil, to provide a nurturing home for elephants displaced by bans on performing animals.
