Our Story
In 1992, a life-changing moment occurred when a man held a starving baby in India. This experience ignited a passion for humanitarian work that led to the creation of Global Roots. The journey began with a vision to empower local communities through sustainable aid, inspired by a Tibetan woman named Tendol Gyalzur, who cared for abandoned children with love and dignity.
Global Roots was founded on the belief that real change must come from within the community. With the support of generous donors and a dedicated team, the first Children’s Garden greenhouse was built in Kenya in 2010. This initiative not only provided nutritious meals but also improved school attendance and academic performance, proving that sustainable solutions can transform lives.
In Afghanistan, Global Roots' greenhouses became a lifeline for orphaned and abandoned children, offering food security and hope for a brighter future. Each project is a testament to the power of community-driven change, helping children dream again and equipping them with the tools to build better lives.
