Global Neighborhood Thrift

Our Story

Founded in 2008, Global Neighborhood is dedicated to providing long-term support for the approximately 500 refugees resettling in Spokane each year. In 2011, the organization launched Global Neighborhood Thrift, a thrift store that operates on a social enterprise model. This initiative not only generates revenue but also offers vital services such as employment training and access to education for refugees. What began as a small training program for two refugees has blossomed into a thriving community organization, paying out over $1.3 million in wages and providing job training to more than 170 individuals.
