Our Story
In 2006, Dr. Naomi Johnson Booker was called to transform a failing charter school in Philadelphia into the Global Leadership Academy Schools (GLA). With a focus on Global Studies and Leadership, GLA provides scholars with unique learning excursions that extend beyond their local neighborhoods. Located in one of Philadelphia’s most financially challenged areas, GLA empowers students to explore the world and become future leaders.
Impact
Over the past 15 years, GLA has fostered a culture of empowerment, providing exceptional educational experiences for inner-city scholars. With the support of generous donors, GLA has raised $800,000 to enhance travel experiences and educational resources.
