Our Story

Founded in 2008 by Dr. Steve Anderson, Global Eye Mission (GEM) began with a vision to provide long-term eye care solutions in Borneo, Indonesia. After years of short-term mission work, Dr. Anderson recognized the urgent need for clinical and surgical eye services in impoverished areas. Today, GEM partners globally to create sustainable eye care inspired by the teachings of Jesus.
