Our Story
Glen Helen is a cherished legacy, established in 1929 by Hugh Taylor Birch in memory of his daughter, Helen. Formed in 1960, the Glen Helen Association has dedicated itself to protecting this beautiful preserve from development threats, ensuring its ecological integrity for generations to come.
Impact
As the first residential environmental learning facility in the Midwest, Glen Helen has significantly shaped the ecological literacy of its visitors and the community. It is also home to Ohio’s original facility for the education and rehabilitation of birds of prey.
