Our Story

Founded in 1905 by Reverend Washington Gladden and Ms. Celia Jeffrey, Gladden Community House has been a cornerstone of the Franklinton community for over 115 years. Originally a neighborhood mission of First Congregational Church, it has transformed into a nonprofit agency dedicated to providing essential social services to individuals, families, and groups.

Our Impact

Each year, Gladden Community House positively impacts the lives of 16,000 residents in Franklinton and surrounding areas. With over $175,000 allocated from CARES ACT funds, the organization has effectively addressed the challenges posed by COVID-19, ensuring families remain stable and supported.
