Our Story

In 2015, Rick Clark, a jobless man living in a trailer, encountered a homeless individual whose backpack had been stolen. With just $8 to his name, Rick promised to return with a replacement filled with supplies. This act of kindness sparked a movement that would change lives. A social media call for help was shared over 500 times, leading to the creation of the Giving Back Packs initiative, which has since filled over 3,700 packs for Spokane's most vulnerable residents.

Impacting the Community

Giving Back Spokane (GBS) is dedicated to alleviating poverty by connecting individuals and families with essential resources. Through partnerships with local agencies, GBS provides food, housing, and transportation assistance, ensuring that help reaches those who need it most. The grassroots efforts combined with community support have allowed GBS to deliver expedited relief and hope to those in vulnerable situations.
