Girls With Books!

Our Story

Girls With Books! was born from the merger of two dedicated organizations, Empowerment Through Education Foundation and Project Education South Sudan, both with a rich history of serving South Sudanese youth. Established on October 1, 2022, this nonprofit is committed to providing educational opportunities for girls in Juba and Bor, South Sudan, as well as in refugee camps in northern Uganda.

Impact

By addressing the alarming rates of out-of-school children, particularly girls, Girls With Books! offers essential support such as tuition, room and board for private schooling, and mentoring programs. This initiative aims to significantly improve women's literacy and educational attainment in a region where only 29% of women can read and write.
