Empowering Girls Since 1971
Girls Incorporated of Carpinteria was founded in 1971 as a summer camp for 33 girls, evolving into a year-round program that has significantly impacted the lives of countless young women. In 1994, a $2.4 million capital campaign led to the construction of a 16,000 square foot facility, tripling the capacity for programming. This growth reflects a commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment where girls can learn, grow, and thrive.
For over 160 years, Girls Inc. has been at the forefront of advocating for girls and young women, adapting to meet their unique challenges. The organization’s core values emphasize the importance of sisterhood, self-confidence, and personal development, ensuring that every girl has the opportunity to envision and create a more equitable future.
