Empowering Young Girls Since 1950
Founded in 1950 by the Pilot Club and local leaders, Girls Inc. of Bristol has dedicated itself to providing young girls with essential social, cultural, and educational opportunities. What began in a garage has blossomed into a vital organization that has positively impacted thousands of girls in the region. Affiliated with the National Girls Club since 1951, Girls Inc. of Bristol has expanded its reach through various building projects, including the acquisition of the Mary Martin Bachman House in 1977. The organization evolved in 1990 to align with the Girls Inc. branding, further enhancing its programs and outreach.
Key milestones include receiving the National Outstanding Affiliate of the Year Award in 2006 and launching a capital campaign in 2021 that led to the opening of the Strong, Smart, and Bold Community Center in 2023. Today, Girls Inc. of Bristol continues to empower girls, helping them realize their full potential through a range of impactful programs.
