Our Story
Founded in 1998 by Rachel Lloyd, Girls Educational and Mentoring Services Inc (GEMS) provides vital support to girls and young women in New York City who have been commercially sexually exploited. GEMS is dedicated to creating a safe space for these individuals to heal and thrive.
Impact
GEMS has proven that its initiatives work. In July 2018, 122 participants were enrolled in college, pursuing a GED/TASC, or attending high school through our Educational Initiative program.
