Our Story
Juliette Gordon Low had a dream. In March 1912, she gathered a group of girls in Savannah, Georgia, igniting a movement that would empower girls to explore new possibilities and the wonders of the world around them. Known affectionately as "Daisy," she inspired these first Girl Scouts to blaze trails, redefine their potential, and embrace adventure. From playing basketball to learning to navigate by the stars, these girls shared a spirit of camaraderie and a belief that they could achieve anything.
Today, the Girl Scouts of Greater South Texas continue this legacy, fostering nearly 2 million girl members and over 50 million alums who are united by lifelong friendships and a commitment to making the world a better place.
