Our Story

The Girl Friends Fund, Inc. has dedicated over 30 years to philanthropy, providing essential financial support to low-income African-American students across the United States. By addressing the funding gap between traditional financial aid and the actual costs of higher education, The Fund plays a vital role in shaping futures.

Impact

Since 1995, The Fund has awarded over 900 scholarships, totaling more than $1,500,000 in financial assistance. Scholars have successfully graduated from prestigious Ivy League universities, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and other esteemed institutions, pursuing careers in law, medicine, engineering, and more.

Why Donate?

Your contributions help offset tuition, books, housing, and other college-related expenses for deserving students. Each Spring, monetary awards are presented to high school seniors nominated by chapters of The Girl Friends, Inc. These awards are renewable for up to four years, ensuring continued support for students who meet eligibility requirements.
