Founded in 2008 by Ashley Marinaccio and Jessica Greer Morris, Girl Be Heard Institute began with just 12 participants and $300. Today, it has transformed into a vibrant nonprofit that empowers over 700 young women annually through theater, storytelling, and social justice initiatives.

Girl Be Heard has significantly improved the self-esteem and mental health of its participants, with over 90% of seniors graduating high school and many attending prestigious colleges like Harvard and Yale.
