Our Story

With deep roots dating back to 1930, the Gilroy Rodeo was a beloved town event that captivated audiences until its cessation in 1956. In 2017, Erik and Kendra Martin reignited this cherished tradition, bringing the rodeo back to life in 2018 after a 62-year hiatus. The Gilroy Rodeo now blends the rich history of the old cowboy with the vibrant culture of the modern South Bay area, encapsulated in the motto: "where the past meets the present." This annual community rodeo aims to make Gilroy not just famous for its garlic, but also for its spirited rodeo festivities.

Impact

In 2023, the Gilroy Rodeo Association proudly donated over $30,500 to local nonprofits, including $12,500 to Jacob's Heart Children Cancer Support Services, aiding in the fight against pediatric cancer.
