Our Story

Founded in 1995 by dedicated oncology nurses, Gilda’s Club Quad Cities recognized the urgent need for social and emotional support for cancer patients and their families. Officially opening its doors on November 8, 1998, the organization has since evolved into Cancer Support Community Iowa & NW Illinois, expanding its reach and services to foster a sense of community and belonging.

Impact

Gilda’s Club provides free programs focusing on mental and emotional support for nearly 4,500 individuals impacted by cancer. Participants report significant improvements in family communication and feelings of connection.
