Discover the Harbor History Museum

Established in 1964, the Gig Harbor Peninsula Historical Society, known as the Harbor History Museum, has been a cornerstone of the community's cultural heritage. The Museum opened its doors in 1976 and underwent a rebranding in 2007 to better reflect its mission. Located in Gig Harbor, Washington, the Museum features a fully restored 1893 one-room schoolhouse, a 65-foot fishing vessel under restoration, and 7,000 square feet of exhibition space.

Impacting Lives Through Education

The Museum serves over 1,100 students annually through its core educational program, the Midway School Experience. This immersive program allows children to step back in time and experience a settler school day, complete with lessons and activities led by a costumed interpreter. The Museum's commitment to education enriches the lives of local students and fosters a love for history.
