Our Story

Gig Harbor Now is a nonprofit news organization that emerged from the closure of a previous local publication, Gig Harbor Life. With a mission to restore local news coverage, the former staff rallied community support and adopted a nonprofit model. Established in January 2021, Gig Harbor Now began publishing local news in August 2021, aiming to inform, educate, and connect the community.
