GFWC Suburbia Woman’s Club

Our Story

The GFWC Suburbia Woman’s Club, a dedicated group of 20 women, has been serving the community since the nineteenth century. Affiliated with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and the Tennessee Federation of Women’s Clubs, this organization has played a pivotal role in establishing libraries, advocating for child labor laws, and supporting the Department of Education. Since 1962, the club has organized the Lenoir City Arts and Crafts Festival, which is vital for funding various charitable projects.

Impact

Over the past four decades, proceeds from the festival have exceeded $500,000, directly benefiting children, families, education, literacy, the arts, the elderly, and the disabled.
