Our Story

Founded in 1984, Georgia WAND Education Fund Inc. is the only Southeast chapter of WAND, initially focusing on nuclear disarmament. Over the years, it has evolved into a statewide organization advocating for environmental justice and racial equity, particularly concerning nuclear energy and its health hazards.

Our Impact

Georgia WAND works tirelessly to defend underserved communities and the climate future by addressing the intersectionality of racism, poverty, and environmental policies. Their initiatives have significantly increased awareness and advocacy for clean energy, clean water, and social justice in Black and brown communities across Georgia.
