The Georgia Resilience and Opportunity Fund, known as the GRO Fund, was born from the Old Fourth Ward Economic Security Task Force, a coalition dedicated to addressing economic insecurity in Dr. King's childhood neighborhood. This initiative focuses on implementing a guaranteed income program aimed at supporting Black women, thereby addressing financial instability and working towards narrowing the racial wealth divide.
The GRO Fund's flagship initiative, the In Her Hands guaranteed income program, is set to distribute $25 million to nearly 1,000 women, positively impacting their 2,000 children and stimulating local economies. Additionally, the Baby Bonds pilot program aims to provide young individuals with essential financial support for wealth-building.
