Our Story

The Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network was founded in 1991 by individuals who have experienced mental health challenges. With over 7,000 members, GMHCN is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living with behavioral health issues through advocacy, education, and peer support.

Our Impact

Recognized as a national leader in the peer support movement, GMHCN has pioneered the first certified peer specialist training program and established five Peer Support, Wellness, and Respite Centers across Georgia, significantly enhancing mental health recovery.
