Our Story

The Georgia Innocence Project is dedicated to freeing and exonerating individuals wrongfully convicted of crimes they did not commit. With a commitment to justice, GIP has successfully helped 15 people regain their freedom after spending hundreds of years behind bars.

Impact

In the United States, studies estimate that 4% of incarcerated individuals are innocent. In Georgia, this could mean around 2,000 innocent people are imprisoned, highlighting the urgent need for advocacy and support.
