Our Story

The Georgia Heirs Property Law Center, Inc. was established to address the urgent need for prevention, education, and remediation of heirs property issues. Since 2015, this not-for-profit law firm has been dedicated to increasing generational wealth and community stability by securing and preserving property rights for low and moderate income Georgians. The Center provides essential services such as title clearing, wills creation, and estate planning, empowering families to transfer wealth to future generations.

Impact

With a reach across 38 counties in Georgia, the Center has positively impacted low-income families with properties valued at over $10.4 million. In collaboration with the NASA Develop Program, geospatial mapping was utilized to identify vulnerable areas affected by heirs property, particularly in rural regions impacted by Hurricane Irma in 2017. Heirs property represents a staggering $47 billion in 'Frozen Equity' in Georgia, which poses significant challenges to the economy and community development.
