Our Story

The Georgetown Community Chorale was founded in 1989 by Dr. Elaine Rendler, who envisioned a vibrant community chorus dedicated to musical excellence and charitable giving. What began as an extension course at Georgetown University has blossomed into a thriving 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Under the leadership of Dr. Richard Giarusso since 2013, the Chorale has continued to flourish, culminating in the formation of the Georgetown Chamber Players in 2024, an ensemble that showcases the talents of its members.

Impact

Since its inception, the Chorale has donated over $300,000 to local charities, supporting vital causes such as assistance for homeless families, wounded veterans, and children in foster care.
