Our Story
The Gaza Mental Health Foundation was established in 2001 to provide essential mental health services to the people of the Gaza Strip, focusing on the region's children, who represent its future. Inspired by Dr. Eyad el Sarraj, the first psychiatrist in Gaza, the foundation is an all-volunteer 501c3 organization that raises funds for independent, non-sectarian organizations like the Gaza Community Mental Health Programme (GCMHP). The foundation's mission is to combat the stigma surrounding mental illness in Palestinian society and to expand access to mental health services for individuals, particularly children.
