The Pride Center at Equality Park
EIN: 65-0431045 · Wilton Manors, FL
Our Story
In 1993, visionary philanthropist Alan Schubert founded the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of South Florida, recognizing the need for a safe haven for the LGBTQ community in Fort Lauderdale. Over the years, The Center has evolved, meeting the unique health, social, educational, and safety needs of its members. In 2008, after a strategic sale of property, The Center acquired a five-and-a-half-acre campus in Wilton Manors, which underwent a $1 million renovation to become The Pride Center at Equality Park. This vibrant hub now offers 30,000 square feet of inclusive meeting and office space, fostering collaboration among various organizations and individuals.
