Our Story
Founded in 1979, the Gay and Lesbian Community Center Inc. began as a help line in partnership with Persad, a local mental health organization. Over the years, it evolved into an independent nonprofit, now known as the PGH Equality Center. This center has a rich history of advocacy, support, and community engagement, providing essential resources to the LGBTQIA+ community in Pittsburgh.
