Gary Comer Youth Center

Our Story

Founded by Gary Comer, the Gary Comer Youth Center has been a beacon of hope in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood of Chicago since 2006. After witnessing the struggles of his former grammar school, Comer dedicated his resources to create a supportive environment for youth to thrive. The center has evolved to meet the community's needs, focusing on youth empowerment and educational equity.

Impact

Each year, the Comer Education Campus serves 2,000 youth from 72 Chicago area schools. An impressive 90% of youth members report positive attitudes toward learning, and alumni earn college degrees at three times the national average.
