Our Story
The journey of Garden of Hope of Central Texas began with a compassionate couple who opened their home to foster children in need. After fostering over 90 children and adopting 11, the founders, Mr. and Mrs. Ocasio, were inspired to create a lasting impact. In 2016, Mr. Wilfredo Ocasio (Junior) established Garden of Hope as a nonprofit organization, embarking on a mission to open emergency foster care shelters that keep sibling groups together. In 2019, this dream materialized with the opening of the first shelter in Salado, Texas, followed by a second shelter in Killeen in 2020. Since then, Garden of Hope has served over 800 children, thanks to the dedication of staff, volunteers, and the community.
