Our Story

The Gallipolis Hocking Valley Railroad Freight Station, built in 1901, served as a vital freight depot until its closure in 1981. In 2016, dedicated residents established the Gallipolis Railroad Freight Station Museum to preserve this historical landmark. With 501c3 status granted by the IRS, the city entrusted the station to the museum board, which has since focused on restoration and community engagement.

Impact

As of April 30, 2023, the museum has welcomed 1,458 visitors from 28 states and 4 countries, showcasing its role as a community and educational resource.
