Our Story
Goodwill Northern Michigan, originally known as Asgard Enterprises, was established in 1972 to empower individuals with disabilities. Evolving over the years, it now focuses on critical community needs, particularly in food security and housing services, inspired by the Goodwill model initiated by Rev Edgar Helms in 1902.
Our Impact
Through the Food Rescue program, Goodwill Northern Michigan delivers an impressive 8,000 pounds of food daily to local pantries and meal sites, effectively reducing food waste and enhancing access to nutritious meals for those in need. Additionally, housing services provide emergency shelter and transitional housing for vulnerable populations, including veterans and families experiencing homelessness.
