Founded in 2010 by Giuliana Furci, the Fungi Foundation is dedicated to exploring and documenting fungi to educate the public and advocate for their conservation. With a strong focus on Chile, the foundation has pioneered the inclusion of fungi in environmental legislation, setting a precedent for global recognition.

Impact of the Fungi Foundation

Through its efforts, the Fungi Foundation has successfully protected 45 species of fungi and lichens in Chile. The foundation has also launched educational programs, published field guides, and conducted expeditions across 17 countries, significantly enhancing public awareness and scientific understanding of fungi.
