Transforming Public Health in New York City

The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) was established in 2002 as an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the health and safety of all New Yorkers. By fostering partnerships between the NYC Health Department and private sector entities, FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives that address pressing health challenges.

With a mission to improve health outcomes across the city, FPHNYC mobilizes the philanthropic community to develop, test, and launch groundbreaking projects. These collaborations not only support pilot programs but also ensure that successful initiatives can be scaled and replicated, ultimately leading to a healthier city for everyone.

Since its inception, FPHNYC has raised over $500 million to support more than 440 projects, focusing particularly on healthy mothers and babies and combating epidemics. Through strategic partnerships, FPHNYC is committed to reducing health inequities and fostering a culture of healthy living for all New Yorkers.
