Our Story

Founded in 2002 by a coalition of dedicated activists and donors, the Fund for Global Human Rights bridges a vital gap in the charity sector. By connecting grassroots human rights defenders with flexible funding, strategic support, and a global network of allies, the Fund empowers local leaders to protect and promote the rights of their communities.

Our Impact

Since inception, the Fund has raised and invested over $165 million into the efforts of more than 1,100 activists and organizations across 80+ countries. The activists supported have successfully overturned unjust laws, advocated for progressive policies, and challenged systemic oppression, transforming communities and improving millions of lives worldwide.
