Our Story

BRC was founded in 1971 by a group of Bowery residents seeking to reclaim their lives from homelessness and addiction. What began as a self-help day program has evolved into a comprehensive nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a range of services to homeless individuals in New York City.

Impact

Each year, BRC serves over 8,000 individuals, equipping them with the tools and support necessary to transition from homelessness to stable housing. With a successful graduation of 6,963 clients from its programs, BRC places an average of 39 individuals into shelter daily.

Why Donate?
