Our Story
The Frontier Times Museum, founded in 1933 by J. Marvin Hunter, Sr. in Bandera, Texas, is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich cultural heritage of Bandera County and the Texas frontier. With an eclectic collection that began with contributions from readers of Hunter's magazine, Frontier Times, the museum showcases artifacts that narrate the story of the American West. Celebrating the legacy of the American cowboy and ranching traditions, it has become a community landmark for over 90 years, reflecting the pioneering spirit of its founder and the contributions of the local community.
