About Fringe Benefits

Fringe Benefits is an educational theatre company founded in 1991, dedicated to early hate crime prevention. Through collaboratively created plays, videos, and programs, it promotes constructive dialogue about diversity and discrimination issues. The organization focuses on opening hearts and minds, addressing social justice issues such as racism, sexism, classism, ableism, ageism, and immigration rights, with a special emphasis on LGBTQ+ issues.

Impact of Our Work

Fringe Benefits has successfully collaborated with schools and communities to create over 100 world-premiere plays and has published 56 original children’s plays, songs, and poems. Their impactful work has been recognized by the President’s Commission on the Arts and Humanities, earning multiple awards for contributions to social justice and anti-bias education.
