Our Story

Founded in 1997 by John Ahlbach and Lee Caggiano, Friends was created to provide organized support and education for young people who stutter and their families. Over the years, it has grown into a national organization, hosting a large annual convention each July and numerous regional conferences throughout the year.

Impact

For over 25 years, Friends has reached thousands of families and children who stutter, offering support through local conferences, virtual programming, and mentoring programs that connect kids with teens who stutter.
