Our Story
Founded in 1972, Friends of the Rockwall County Library has dedicated itself to enhancing the welfare and interest of the Rockwall County Library. Over the years, this organization has become a vital advocate for the library, successfully rallying community support for the construction of a new library building. This initiative was made possible through two bond elections, one in 2000 for land acquisition and another in 2004 for construction, resulting in an impressive $11.5 million investment. The Friends also established a Capital Campaign Committee, raising over $440,000 to furnish the library with essential books, materials, and equipment.
