Friends of the Mandarin Scholars

Our Story

Founded in April 2011, Friends of the Mandarin Scholars in the San Mateo Foster City School District emerged to support K-8 Mandarin education at College Park Elementary and Bayside STEM Academy. After the loss of federal funding in December 2011, this nonprofit organization has played a vital role in raising funds from parents and the community to sustain and enhance the Mandarin program.

FMS funds essential resources for Mandarin education, including instructional aides, summer programs, and cultural celebrations, enriching the learning experience for students.
