Our Story
In 1982, a dedicated group of citizens in Montgomery County came together to form Friends of the Library Montgomery County, MD Inc. With the support of the Montgomery County Public Libraries and the Library Board, this independent nonprofit was established to elevate the library system. For over 40 years, FOLMC has operated without government funding, focusing solely on enriching the community's access to knowledge and resources.
