Our Story
The Friends of the Jewish Chapel was established in 1994 to enhance the religious and cultural lives of Jewish Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy. Initially, support was provided through programming, as a dedicated Jewish Chapel was only a dream. Recognizing the need for a facility dedicated to Jewish worship and ethics, FOJC proposed the Commodore Uriah P. Levy Center and Jewish Chapel in 1996. After approval in 1999, FOJC began raising funds for its design, construction, and equipping, culminating in its dedication in September 2005.
