Our Story

Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery (FISH) was established in 1992 to prevent the closure of the Issaquah Hatchery, which has been a cornerstone of salmon restoration since 1936. This community-driven organization emphasizes the cultural, economic, and historical significance of salmon in the Issaquah area, advocating for their conservation through education and outreach.

Our Impact

FISH engages over 100,000 individuals annually, providing hands-on learning experiences to more than 30,000 students about salmon and watershed stewardship. The organization has raised millions of salmon eggs and played a crucial role in habitat restoration efforts.
